Backup for Netgear WiFi Range Extender
The Netgear recommend that you should the
configuration settings of your extender settings when the extender works
correctly after initial setup. Once you
have backed the settings, you can restore the backed-up configuration settings
if you can change the new settings but you are not content with the new
settings.
The following are the steps that help you to back up the configuration of your Netgear Wi-Fi Range Extender.
• First
of all launch a web browser your computer.
Then in the address bar of your browser, enter the web address www mywifiext net setup. Then you are asked to enter the login details
like a username and password. If the
login prompt does not appear, then make sure to include the http:// before the
web address in your browser.
• The
default username is admin, you can type the admin for username and type
password for the password.
• After
that go to the Maintenance and enter Backup Settings. Then by clicking on the Backup button, your
browser will extract all the important configuration files from you Netgear
extender.
• Set
the location where you want to save the file if you don’t want your browser to
save the downloaded files automatically.
This will save a copy of the current settings of the extender in the
location you specified.
Restoring the Saved Configuration Settings
You can restore the configuration file of
the Netgear Wi-Fi Range Extender to the previously saved configuration. To restore the extender configuration
settings.
• Launch
the web browser and enter http://www.mywifiext.net. Then you are asked to enter the username and
password, type admin as the username and password as the password.
• Now
go to the Maintenance and then select the Backup Settings.
• You
can now click on the Browse button to locate the previously saved backup file.
