Connecting Netgear ac1200 Dual Band
If your router does not support the WPS,
then you first need to access the extender over the Wi-Fi and then you need to
use the browser-based NETGEAR Smart Setup to connect the extender to your Wi-Fi
network. After you connect the extender
to an existing Wi-Fi network using the Smart Setup Wizard, the extender changes
its default network name to the existing Wi-Fi network and adds _5GEXT at the
end of 5 GHz network name and 2.4 GHz network name at the end of 2.4 GHz
network name.
The following are the steps that need to be followed to connect your EX6200.
• First
of all place the extender close to your Wi-Fi router. After that, you can place the extender in a
permanent location for establishing a connection to the Wi-Fi router.
• Connect
the extender to the electric supply outlet using the plug. During the startup process, the Extender LED
and the two Link Rate LED’s lights up.
These lights will be turned off after about one minute.
• You
might not be able to connect to the extender device if you have your mobile or
computer is already connected to the Ethernet network. So you have to be sure that your mobile or
computer is not connected to the Ethernet network.
• To
find and connect to the default Wi-Fi network of the extender, you need to open
a Wi-Fi network manager on your mobile or computer device.
• To
find and connect to the NETGEAR_EXT Wi-Fi network of the extender you can use
any Wi-Fi network utility device like Smartphone, computer or Tablet.
• Then
from the same computer or mobile device open a web browser. The browser takes you directly to the NETGEAR
screen or you can manually enter the web address http 192.168 o 1.1 admin.
• A
pop-up screen will appear to you, then click the Finish button.
